What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a safe, natural and effective form of health care that addresses joint mobility (biomechanics), structural joint support (via muscle, ligament and tendon) and how these structures may affect the central and peripheral nervous system. The doctor will assess the patient for spinal/extremity joint alignment, structural joint support integrity, symmetry and nerve root function.

A chiropractor will administer specific adjustments to areas in your spine/extremities that are "fixated/subluxated" or out of alignment, thus inhibiting normal nervous and spinal/extremity function.

The goal of chiropractic care is to restore the spine/extremity joints to their natural position and motion while addressing imbalances and asymmetries within the supporting structures thus improving nervous system function, spinal/extremity joint function and overall health.

Adjustment techniques vary from practitioner to practitioner. Some methods employ a focused thrust while others are slower with constant pressure. Instrument adjusting is also available. Instrument adjusting is gentle and noninvasive technique. Years of training and clinical experience allow the chiropractic doctor to determine the best method for you.
